Picture
We visited Gunpowder Falls State Park this past weekend and stayed at Mill Pond Cottage. This recording features the brook outside of the cottage at dusk. 10 minutes of water flow, snow melt, birds flitting about and some sounds of my boots crunching in the snow.

Sitting by the dock on the Chesapeake Bay. August. My dog is sitting in the shade cooling off, you will hear her panting in addition to waves, wind, airplanes and gulls. Seven minutes and thirty seconds of letting the world pass by.

Picture
A June thunderstorm passing through  suburban Maryland. I captured this by placing the recorder on the windowsill protected by an overhanging storm window. Almost 7 minutes of sound and then perhaps you let the silence take you into the last 3 minutes of your restful posture.

The sounds of wind blowing off Lake Artemesia in August. Morning birds, young families walking by, a metro train, and me singing a Vedic chant to support your health and well-being.

    About
    Urban Nature Savasanas

Savasana is a Sanskrit term used in yoga practice to describe a posture of rest and integration. It is the posture in my yoga practice where I return when I need to let the business of my day digest and settle.

Everyone can take a time out and reconnect to the bigger picture. Urban nature savasanas are inspired by that idea. I record urban nature sounds and post them with the hopes that you will press play, lie down and take a few minutes (between 7-14 for most posts) to let the sounds wash over you.
